DAY 1 – DISSECTION & ULTRASONOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION
09 APRIL 2025

The opening day of the Jean-Marie Denoix Masterclass welcomed participants into an intensive program led by Professor Jean-Marie Denoix, DVM, PhD, Director of CIRALE (France) and one of the world’s foremost authorities in equine anatomy, biomechanics, and lameness.
Renowned for his pioneering research in locomotor pathology, Professor Denoix introduced the session by emphasizing the importance of combining anatomical knowledge with diagnostic imaging in equine sports medicine.
The day focused on the pelvic limb anatomy through detailed dissection of the distal limb, tarsus, crus, and stifle muscles.
Participants then observed a live ultrasound demonstration, covering key regions such as the metatarsus flexor tendons, proximal suspensory ligament, and stifle joints.
The afternoon transitioned to hands-on wet lab practice, where attendees applied the morning’s lessons under expert supervision.
The day concluded with a dynamic discussion, encouraging participants to share findings and practical insights.
DAY 2 – DISTAL LIMB FOCUS
10 APRIL 2025

The second day explored the biomechanics of the pelvic limb and pathologies commonly encountered in endurance horses.
Through the BioRex methodology, cases of DDF and SDF tendinopathies, proximal suspensory ligament injuries, and metatarsal bone fractures were presented and analyzed.
Afternoon sessions examined distal tarsus arthropathies, tibio-tarsal collateral desmopathies, and plantar tarsal sheath tenosynovitis.
Each case study combined scientific explanation with clinical applications, providing attendees with practical approaches for diagnosis and rehabilitation.
The day ended with an open discussion consolidating key learnings.
DAY 3 – CRUS, STIFLE & FEMORAL MUSCLES
11 APRIL 2025

The final day addressed complex conditions of the crus and stifle.
Case studies covered SDFT luxations, gastrocnemius tendinopathies, peroneus tertius injuries, and patella sub-fixation.
Afternoon sessions included medial femoro-tibial injuries and cruciate ligament desmopathies, before closing with diagnostic and rehabilitation approaches to femoral muscle injuries.
Guided by Professor Jean-Marie Denoix, DVM, PhD, Director of CIRALE (France), participants explored biomechanics, rehabilitation, and exercise strategies to reduce stress on injured structures. The Masterclass concluded with actionable insights to optimize healing and enhance equine performance.
